Another favourite of mine I have been holding on to, but the time has come!.. This piece highlights our social and 'anti' economic system which profits and inevitably encourages detrimental effects to our environment and health. Personal Collection Thanks for dropping by!.. :)
Ok, after more than 3 years from conception to completion, I was really, really reluctant to let this one go. However the time had to come sometime. I love all my pieces and I'd get nowhere just hording all of them. They were meant to be seen and I hope this one finds an uber loving home!.. Personal Collection More info and Work in Progress pictures can be viewed at Dragon Eye Reflection of Creation !
Thanks for the visit!.. :) p.s. Since posting this I changed my mind and decided I was going to continue keeping this piece in my private collection. Who knows maybe I'll let it go when I'm old n grey.. :) SOLD Painted alla prima on a toned ground, slight accents in the hues were enhanced creating a soft complementary contrast of muted purples and creams. The gestural alla prima quality of the painting is left apparent with the fusion of the toned background with the final composition.
Check out how this painting was created at Figure Oil Painting Practice 9th Nov '14. Thanks for the visit!.. :) SOLD Gustav Klimt has always been an inspiration with his mixture of realism, abstraction and symbolism, and is certainly one of my most favourite artists . Thus when I was conceiving an image that would best convey the concept I had in mind, I felt his well know ‘Death and Life’ painting was a perfect base , as any omissions (such as Death) or changes would be instantly recognized and enrich the concept of the piece.
Read more at 'Life' where I have included images of this piece in progress, so do check it out!.. Thanks for the visit!.. :) First in a series of travel pieces, I snapped the reference picture for this piece while traveling through one of the rural parts of India.. Thanks for the visit!.. :) The concept of time & space has always fascinated me and so age old philosophies and scientific theories on the subject have been an almost constant reading companion and theme in my work for many years... Although many of my works have elements of this idea melded in with other varying contexts, this I feel is the first piece that is completely focused on the concept of time alone... Hi there, so this would be the first of a series I'll be painting with a magnifying glass. Called 'The Testy Text' (you probably get what I mean from the magnified text), it sets the tone for the next paintings in the series.. 'The Testy Text' Alla Prima ACEO Medium: Oil on Linenboard Size: 3.5 x 2.5 Inches SOLD Painted from life alla prima, a very minimalist pallet was used of Cad Yellow & Red, Phthalo Blue, Paynes Gray & of course Titanium White. For the lettering I used a Sgraffito technique with a sharp black colour pencil.. Everything else was painted with two (000) rounds... Thanks for the visit!.. :) Hi there!... This detailed lil' conceptual piece is now on Daily Paintworks!.. :D Multiple layers of thin translucent hue were applied, drying between layers, to create this turquoise gem of crystal clear sea water realism, melded with abstractions of pure white refracted reflections of light.... 'Reflections' ACEO
