This understated minimalist piece was created as part of my figurative drawing studies. The intention of gestural studies like this is to bring forth the essence of the figure with minimal expressive strokes.

If you look closely you can see other charcoal drawings done on the other side of the paper showing through. I rather like the esthetic effect of this, so decided not to remove them.
