Drawing inspirations from theories of time, space & zen philosophy, layers of thin translucent hue were applied, drying between layers, to create this turquoise gem of crystal clear sea water realism, melded with abstractions of pure white refracted reflections of light....
The wave lined, slightly textural surface playing an integral part in its concept...

How Reflections' ACEO came about...

After the initial preliminary composition was created, a pre-drawing in yellow ocher oil paint of the final composition was then traced on the slightly texturally primed linen support.
Using a mixture of alkyd (a superior fast drying oil paint, a fav of mine) and normal oils, lovely blends of turquoise hues were then carefully and delicately painted in while preserving the pure white webs of refracted and reflected abstractions of light.
Several layers (5) were applied with ever more detail, drying between layers.
Keeping the edges soft and and the white as pure as possible I finished off with a tiny signature on the bottom right corner, and that's it!.. :)
