Inspired by philosophical & scientific theories of time and space, this piece seeks to render and merge both dynamical systems theory & relativity with zen philosophy...

Featured is a classic Ford Model T, one of many reoccurring subjects used in my conceptual work..

The idea for this painting was derived 10 years ago and is actually taken from a much larger oil that I had never been really satisfied with and thus never completed...
Thus the creation of this lil' one, was a sort of completion of the old piece, perfecting the elements I had been less than happy with, and creating a sort of preliminary final visualization as reference for the larger painting.. You can view the Final large piece at 'Timeless Chaos'.

This also gives me a chance to make this piece available as one of my few choice affordable conceptual art works!..

How "Timeless Chaos" ACEO came about...

After lots of messy rough sketches, a detailed preliminary drawing was done referencing photos I had taken, like the Ford Model T ( adjusting perspectives and such for the composition ) or otherwise just from memory & my imagination.
With the composition finalized I could then proceed with the support, prepared with treated copper, moulded to a gesso primed linen surface mounted on thin wood...
The pre-drawing was then photocopied ( keeping the original for future reference).. Raw umber oil paint was rubbed on the back of the photocopy, imprinting the image on the surface when traced.
I then started to paint the sky in oil, catching the chaotic fiery highlights first, then proceeding with the rest of the landscape before beginning on the Ford Model T & parking meter... Skid marks depicting the car's apparent accelerated swerve on the road were created by rubbing off the paint before it dried, revealing the metallic copper surface underneath....
As my reference Ford Model T was a red car, I had to pay careful attention to creating a realistic interpretation of a white car instead, bringing to life the red sky and surroundings that would inevitably be reflected on its surface.
Once it was dry enough, a layer of retouch varnish was applied for protection, and that's it!.. :)
