No matter how deeply we try to carve it in to the fleeting passages of time, the sands shall ever wear our conceits down, and when they do, will we be there to embrace it? "Predatory capitalism created a complex industrial system and an advanced technology; it permitted a considerable extension of democratic practice and fostered certain liberal values, but within limits that are now being pressed and must be overcome. It is not a fit system for the mid-twentieth century. It is incapable of meeting human needs that can be expressed only in collective terms, and its concept of competitive man who seeks only to maximize wealth and power, who subjects himself to market relationships, to exploitation and external authority, is antihuman and intolerable in the deepest sense." `~ Noam Chomsky

Hiya! So if ya haven't seen my latest fb or insta posts you may not have spied my latest conceptual drawing yet. 'Binary Movement' Charcoal and Colour Pencil Drawing WIP' See ya! Thanks for the visit!.. :) Hi guys! So with a touch of trepidation I got back to this piece and I'm pretty happy it's turned out just as envisioned!.. The nature of this piece I feel lends itself to personal interpretation so I shy away from clarifying my own inspiration as I would like each observer to find meaning in it for themselves, independent of my own conceptual vision. Check out more detailed shots and info at 'Duality of Mind' or if you are interested in seeing a how this piece was created step by step, check out 'Duality of Mind' Pastel and Colour Pencil WIP'!!
Thanks for dropping by guys! :)
Had to say adieu to this one today. I was surprisingly sadder than usual to see a piece go. I was quite pleased at successfully achieving just the exact glowing emerald hue I had envisioned for the snake and this was also my first attempt at trying a new crosshatching technique with the oil paint too.. Despite this I could not feel more blessed with whom she is on her way to right now!.. Thank you so much for making a home for two!.. :) More info on how this piece was created etc. at 'Original Sin Rebirth' SOLD
I've been testing out different colour palettes for my figurative work lately 'Twilight' being the latest. I quite like the prussian blue based hues in this one, especially how well it plays off the complementary raw umber in the background. Check out the WIP for this piece at: Testing DIY Silverleaf Sealant, Size & Colour Palettes.
