Haven't done a long pose practice session in a long time so it was really fantastic knuckling down to bring this pose through all the nuances that are generally left behind when doing one of my short gesture drawings... Attention was given to sensitive soft edges (with carefully chosen defined accents ). Without fiddling with the details of the hand in the foreground, the eye is free to be led up and down the figure.. the perspective enhanced by the barely rendered feet in the distance... SOLD
Ok folks, thanks so much for the visit!.. :D

SOLD Painted alla prima on a toned ground, slight accents in the hues were enhanced creating a soft complementary contrast of muted purples and creams. The gestural alla prima quality of the painting is left apparent with the fusion of the toned background with the final composition.
Check out how this painting was created at Figure Oil Painting Practice 9th Nov '14. Thanks for the visit!.. :) SOLD
SOLD Gustav Klimt has always been an inspiration with his mixture of realism, abstraction and symbolism, and is certainly one of my most favourite artists . Thus when I was conceiving an image that would best convey the concept I had in mind, I felt his well know ‘Death and Life’ painting was a perfect base , as any omissions (such as Death) or changes would be instantly recognized and enrich the concept of the piece.
Read more at 'Life' where I have included images of this piece in progress, so do check it out!.. Thanks for the visit!.. :) First in a series of travel pieces, I snapped the reference picture for this piece while traveling through one of the rural parts of India.. Thanks for the visit!.. :) |
